Get TicketsOne of the things that makes Chicago Food Planet food tasting and cultural walking tours unique is the fantastic personalities that lead our groups every day. Let’s take a look at who’s next on our list…
Name: Colleen Farrell
Tour: Bucktown/Wicker Park and Near North
Chicago Food Planet: What’s your favorite stop on your tour?
Colleen: I love going into Old Town Oil because people are always surprised at how much they love shooting vinegar and olive oil.
CFP: What’s your first strong memory of food?
Colleen: Eating crawfish bread at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, where I grew up. [We’d never heard of crawfish bread, either…here’s a recipe for it from Emeril Lagasse!]
CFP: What’s your favorite dish to cook?
Colleen: My mom’s recipe for Crawfish Monica is always a crowd pleaser. It’s delicious and actually really easy to make!
CFP: What’s your favorite part about living in Chicago?
Colleen: I love that there’s so much constantly going on. I’m a comedian, so I love live theater, comedy shows and variety shows of all types. There’s always some new, weird show concept or event out there to see that surprises me. I always recommend that out-of-town-visitors see a Second City comedy show, or one of my comedy shows — if I have one up at the time!
CFP: Tell us something random about yourself.
Colleen: I write rap songs about food, female body image and the roach perspective.
