We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We hope you do as well. As we get ready for a holiday full of family, friends, food and football – whew that’s a lot of f’s – we rounded up some restaurants we think you might like to try this year!
We’re giving you the entree first, because it’s our blog and we do what we want! Also, sriracha is hot right now (pun intended)! You see it on everything from doritos to ice cream.
While we won’t be guzzling sriracha ice cream anytime soon, we are all about a sriracha turkey. Let’s be real for a sec. Turkey can be hard to cook. You know Aunt Jan and Uncle Mike get distracted drinking wine and watching football games and overcook the hell outta the turkey, giving you a dry meat you slather in gravy. Imagine if that turkey had a crispy skin and was covered in sriracha, would you care if it was a bit dry? BET NOT!
Blogger, Tori Avey, posted this recipe and we’ve got nothin’ but praise. Can’t wait to try it!
We might just be in the mood for spice with a second recipe that has a touch of heat to it. Not mad about it, just saying’. Lindsay from A Pinch of Yum, posts recipes that bring comfort to the darkest of days (ie. winter in Chicago.) This dip is topped with not only cilantro, but also lots of French’s® Crispy Jalapeños and umm, hello? How did we not know these existed? Might even sprinkle some of these bad boys on top of the crispy onions that are on the green bean casserole. You think that’s too much?
Check out the recipe from A Pinch of Yum and decide for yourself.

This recipe comes from our friends at The Spice House. It’s a perfect stuffing that might revitalize your family dinner.
It was submitted by one of their customers (Laura from Kenosha, WI) who said, “I have never been fond of Thanksgiving stuffing. In my quest to find a stuffing free of organ meats and strong flavors that were uncomplimentary to the turkey, I found one that used two harvest standards: cranberries and apples.”
From our amazing partners at Old Town Oil (yeah we know we talk about them a lot, but it’s because they are extraordinary. You’ll be surprised to know that baking with olive oil instead of butter transforms the traditional sugar cookie, giving it an extra kick of sweet flavor and a healthier profile. It’s a super easy recipe and needs all pantry staples except the OTO Meyer Lemon or Blood Orange Olive Oil, which if this ISN’T a pantry staple for you, it should be.
We’re big foodies (obviously) and love to follow and support other food blogs. The House of Yumm is a great one and it’s gifted the world with this creamy, cheesy mashed potato casserole that’s loaded with bacon and chives. Uh, yes YUMM! Bonus: you can make it ahead of time and heat it back up day of – it’s a winner to pair with your turkey dinner!

It’s like a sorta healthy mac and cheese! Sorta, as in, we don’t actually know the calorie count, but with squash, kale and whole wheat grains it can’t be that bad. Mac and cheese is probably the most classic dish of all time and while it could be eaten with a wooden spoon and guzzled, why not try taking a lighter route and mix the holidays up a bit?
Get the recipe here at Sally’s Baking Addiction. Yet another fabulous food blogger to follow.
Be fair warned, her photos will make you hangry and you can find a bunch of awesome dessert ideas here too!

We stumbled upon this interesting video from Dunkin Donuts. Yeah, yeah, we know. They’re a big chain. But come on, mixing savory with sweet for Thanksgiving? We’d give it a try. How about you?
We recommend using Stan’s Donuts for the donuts, but you do whatever makes you happy! And let us know how it goes.
Comment below! Which will you be trying this year? Or do you have a recipe you would like to share?
