The Holiday Season is upon us and it’s time to start planning your work outing.  Why not make this year memorable?  Skip the usually cocktail event and find a unique experience.  Check out our 5 tips to make your Holiday Outing the most successful event of the year:

Full Service Event Coordination

Of course your company Holiday Party is a fun way to celebrate with your colleagues. However, when you’re the one planning it the fun can be minimal as the stress of planning increases. Chicago Food Planet provides Full Service Event Coordination with each and every event. We make sure every thing runs smoothly and make it easy so you, the company planner, can sit back and relax. Ultimately, you won’t have to make a single phone call past Chicago Food Planet!

Additionally, our team will personally customize a list of places we recommend to your group for after-party pit stops. There’s no need for food before or after the event, we make sure all guests are pleasantly full upon completion of our Food & Beverage Experiences. Therefore, this will only be necessary for the avid late night crowd, but can also be used for your future adventures around Chicago’s food scene ;). Overall, Chicago Food Planet will provide the food & drink, any transportation needs, and all the fun!

Consider Interactive Options

Everyone has gone to the company happy hour and dinners throughout the year and they need something new! Keeping your guests interactive and engaged in the Chicago winter is tricky, but necessary to keep the winter blues away, and the holiday spirit jingling. For this reason, I’ve listed some of  my favorite restaurants that we incorporate into our events for that unique interactive element:

  • Tapster: Chicago’s first ever fully self-service craft tasting room including beer, wine, cocktails, kombucha, coffee, and many other unique options.
  • Old Town Oil: Purveyor of aged balsamic vinegars and 100% extra virgin olive oils. Sample different oils & vinegars – mix up your own combinations!
  • Triple Crowne: Top-rated Canton cuisine and Hong Kong style Dim Sum restaurant
. Share small plates with your guests as everyone can try a bite of each item and learn about the Chinese culture!

Incorporate Team-Building

Let’s face it, team-building is a necessity, but not everyone enjoys it. After all, team-building activities with less pressure typically are more effective. Our goal at Chicago Food Planet is to incorporate team-building in a natural, food focused kind of way. For example:

  • Incorporating historical, architectural, and cultural facts about Chicago
  • Walking between restaurants to enjoy activity and socialization
  • Trying new food together and sit next to a new colleague at each location. Conversation over food is the easiest type of conversation! Have you read about the power of employees eating together?

Lastly, check out what Caitlin had to say about team building with Chicago Food Planet:

“Chicago Food Planet Food Tour was a great opportunity for a unique team-building exercise. Participants were “forced” to talk with everyone (over food!) in a casual setting. It accomplished what many traditional team building events try to do in a far more fun and relaxed atmosphere. It was a wonderful outing and we plan to return.”

Feed Everyone

It can be almost impossible to pick a restaurant where everyone is pleased with the options.  I know first hand from working with Mizkan Americas this can be an ongoing challenge for them:

“I plan team outings often and it’s a hit-and-miss a lot.  You can’t please 100% of the people 100% of the time, but with our food tour, everyone came out smiling and happy with the experience.” – Becky, Mizkan Americas

First and foremost, our goal is that all guests leave their Food Experience pleasantly full.  This includes having received a diverse array of foods, while accommodating any allergies or aversions.  Yes, we can even satisfy those Gluten Free/Dairy Free/Vegetarian guests!

Send Guests Home with a Memorable Gift

No doubt, the best gift to give is one everyone will use.  Mix it up this year and skip the chocolate package, bottle of wine, logo’d sweatshirt, coffee cup etc…

This year many of our clients received a gift that reflected Chicago Food Planet’s personality, but most importantly reflected our client’s interests. We gifted VIP clients with a speciality Chicago-centric spice and olive oil from our restaurant partners at The Spice House and Old Town Oil. Included with this gift was a recipe to use both ingredients together, so they can share their gift with family & friends.

Are you interested in having Chicago Food Planet plan your event and also package this unique, signature gift for your employee holiday gifts? We can have these made readily available at your event. You even have the ability to customize the package with your choice of spices and olive oils from these amazing partners.
